After got my little old house, my first needs is to hang window curtain. The premade curtain hang sold in the store are very expensive, so my first project is to make some window curtain hang.

I found I could get curtain rod really cheap, but I need the finial, which I could not make it, and it was very expensive (I later found that Lowes actually had it relatively cheap). I found Joann Fabrics had some wood ball and toy wheels, that could be used to make finial.  I bought some together with a small can of polyurethane and started my project.

Here are some more finished ones with polyurethane.

Looks not bad at all, right? Continue to make rod holder. I use router with round over bit to make the edge, use table saw to cut it to shape.

These holders looks really funny, like a bunch of horse head to me. I don't have a large drive bit to make the circle cut, just make it square, and it works fine. Here are some pictures with them on the windows.

Does that look good? At least it looked fine to me at that time.
