This is my recently project. I need a media center cabinet that is capable of holding all my acoustic components, including receiver, DVD player, Cassette recorder, VCR and also a computer, maybe a Wii in the near future. I have checked a lot of furniture store online, and just could not find one that would satisfy my requirement. It is either too big and too expensive, or does not have enough space to hold all my stuff, besides, most of them are not good looking to me. So I decided to make one myself. With the intensive experience from my kitchen cabinet making, this project seems to be a piece of cake.
It is important to have a good design which means its structure should sounds and also good looking. I compared many of the media center from different furniture store, based on my needs and my flavor, I designed one that contains three separate parts, two side units and a central unit. Here is the design.
After carefully designed the media center, I calculated all the materials that will be used to construct this cabinet.
